Title: Hawaiian Bouquet

I love painting flowers and have been painting flowers in watercolor 12 years as you can see in the Floralscapes on this shop. This year I've been exploring acrylic paints to avoid the necessity of framing. This bouquet is my first larger canvas to see how the acrylic appearance compares to my large watercolors. It's quite different. More saturated, less delicate and a different and wonderfully rich feeling. It will reproduce well on the various options of products on this site! The original canvas can be hung directly on the wall. The painting continues onto the sides of the stretcher as a wrap. It is varnished for protection.

Watercolor is my medium. I zoom in and compose from my photos to fill a picture plane with a compelling design that takes the viewer into an abstract and sensual world. I look for beautiful transitions of color or textures that could be expressed luminously with my many glazes of watercolor, or that might provide an opportunity for me to try new painting techniques. I paint the inner landscape of flowers calling these works Floralscapes. The shapes, designs and patterns inside flowers and plants are the subject that awakened my love of painting, giving me a chance to create images of stunning beauty while merging realism with an abstract sense of design.
