This multicolor tulip seems to be trying to decide if its red or pink while the greens creep in. It was such an unusual flower that I found at the Skagit Valley, WA during its April Tulip Festival, I painted the festival poster in 2016, and while there I got to photograph lots of interesting varieties for eventual painting. This tulip is painted on 140# Arches Cold Press paper. The original painting is part of an April 2023 show I'm having with other festival poster artists at the Scott Milo Gallery in Anacortes, WA. My show is titled "From Darkness Blooms" to show the beauty of flower during dark times. The original is matted in white and framed with a white metal frame. It looks great on my terra cotta painted dining room wall! The image size is 13.75 x 21.25 in a 22.5 x 30" frame. This painting, and all my paintings on Fine Art America are professionally photographed to create perfect reproductions on all the print surfaces and products.

I paint the inner landscape of flowers calling these works Floralscapes. The shapes, designs and patterns inside flowers and plants are the subject that awakened my love of painting, giving me a chance to create images of stunning beauty while merging realism with an abstract sense of design. As my paintings get larger, and I face new technical challenges with watercolor,...
