This painting won the First Place Award in the Women Painter's of WA show in Bellingham, WA at Cordata Gallery! The unique point of view of this California Tree Poppy caught my eye and Heronswood Garden in Kingston, WA. It was in motion, dancing in the breeze and I knew it would become a wonderful painting in this large widely horizontal format in my new series "From darkness blooms". The original painting is part of an April 2023 show I'm having with other festival poster artists at the Scott Milo Gallery in Anacortes, WA. My show is titled "From Darkness Blooms" to show the beauty of flower during dark times. The original is floating on white archival backing and framed with a white metal frame.
The artwork is professionally photographed to bring its best results of reproduction on all the prints and products on Fine Art America. I hope it brings you as much happiness as I receive from it!

Watercolor is my medium. I zoom in and compose from my photos to fill a picture plane with a compelling design that takes the viewer into an abstract and sensual world. I look for beautiful transitions of color or textures that could be expressed luminously with my many glazes of watercolor, or that might provide an opportunity for me to try new painting techniques. I paint the inner landscape of flowers calling these works Floralscapes. The shapes, designs and patterns inside flowers and plants are the subject that awakened my love of painting, giving me a chance to create images of stunning beauty while merging realism with an abstract sense of design.
